Benchmark Electronics, Inc., a leading contract manufacturing provider, announced plans to expand its manufacturing capacity in Asia with a third manufacturing site in Thailand to accommodate increased customer demand for systems integration services.

The company plans to start its newest manufacturing site in a leased facility 30 miles north of the Bangkok Airport in the City of Ayudhaya, Thailand. This new facility will be located in the same industrial park as the company's current Ayudhaya site and will offer 60,000 square feet of systems integration manufacturing space.

Benchmark anticipates the facility will be fully operational by the end of the first quarter of 2005. The company currently operates 17 facilities worldwide, including 4 facilities in Asia. Benchmark's existing facilities in Asia include the facility in Korat, Thailand which became fully operational in the third quarter of 2004.
