Rohde & Schwarz needs additional production capacity in order to be able to continue its growth of recent years. Since the German plants in Teisnach, Memmingen and the plant in the Czech town of Vimperk are working at full capacity, the technology group has been looking for an external solution. Expanding on the long-term relationship with Benchmark, Rohde & Schwarz made the decision after an extensive evaluation of electronic manufacturing services (EMS) companies. Dr. Marc Sesterhenn, Executive Vice President Operations at Rohde & Schwarz, said: “As an existing Benchmark engineering services customer, we were very familiar with Benchmark’s capabilities, global footprint and technical expertise. That is why we chose Benchmark, which can manufacture and deliver our complex products quickly and with the customary high quality according to our own and our customers' requirements.”
In future, it will remain important to supply customers quickly and reliably. Since its founding, Rohde & Schwarz has benefited from the close proximity of development and production. Benchmark’s locations across the Americas, Europe and Asia will provide Rohde & Schwarz with localized and global supply chain sources coupled with a customer-focused team committed to quality, optimized costs and manufacturing for their high technology solutions.
“We are thrilled that Rohde & Schwarz has selected Benchmark as a global manufacturing partner and share its commitment to non-stop innovation,” said Michael Buseman, Executive Vice President of Global Operations at Benchmark. “Benchmark’s ability to solve complex technical challenges coupled with our extensive supply chain capabilities are a perfect match for Rohde & Schwarz’s requirements. We are dedicated to helping accelerate the company’s global growth and increase its manufacturing efficiencies while delivering high quality and consistent performance.”
